Zoe Saldana's parents Asalia and Aridio Saldana, were born the 19th of June 1978 in Passaic New Jersey. Her father is Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. Her mother raised her mother who lived in Queens. As she reached the age of 10 years old, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. While living there, Zoe discovered a keen interest in performance dance and began her training at the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she learned ballet, as well as various other dance forms.
