Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Her modelling career began in Italy in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being born in California. Her acting career began in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure the role for Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was very intense. Amy struggled to make the shift to acting as models were not considered as an actor, so they generally were offered small parts. Amy did not give up and eventually she landed bigger roles in films Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, she was cast as the lead in the romance comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for her work in the last 10 years. Amy was in several big movies in the Crank trilogy with Jason Statham. And she also played a recurring role in the Shameless series.
